§ 3.04. Specifications

  • 1. Street right-of-way widths. Streets and road right-of-way widths shall conform to the rules of the State Department of Transportation and the Highway District or Department having jurisdiction; minimum right-of-way standards are as follows:

    2. Street grades. Street grades shall not exceed ten percent (10%).

    3. Street alignment. Street alignment shall be as follows:

    a. Horizontal alignment. When street lines deflect from each other by more than ten (10) degrees in alignment, the centerlines shall be connected by a curve having a minimum radius of five hundred (500) feet for arterial streets, three hundred (300) feet for collector streets, and one hundred fifty (150) feet for residential. Between reverse curves on collector and arterial streets there shall be a minimum tangent distance of two hundred (200) feet; and

    b. Vertical alignment. Minimum stopping sight distances shall be two hundred (200) feet for minor streets and designed in accordance with design speed for collector and arterial streets.
